It was another mega busy few weeks for Ritchie with quest spots, a studio day, band rehearsals, stage production meetings for his concert tour, a family daytime show, dances and the biggest event of them all – a joint birthday party for his two sons complete with Spiderman lol. It all started with the usual concert prep, so rehearsals with both his band and Drumragh Integrated Primary School choir, Omagh as they appeared on stage with Ritchie on Friday night as part of his #CountryBoy Tour. Next stop was a meeting with his production team to make sure they had the same vision as Ritchie and that they could put it all into place. (Its not easy trying to think like Ritchie Remo you know🙈

Friday 19th June was the big one for the Ritchie Remo big band and crew as we made our way to The Strule Arts Centre in Omagh for the 4th leg of the #CountryBoy Tour.  The crew arrived, the lorry arrived (after a few laps of Omagh ;) ) and The Strule Arts Centre was transformed into Ritchies vision.  His guests included Jeanette Mc Daid, the shy lady with the BIG voice, who blew everyone away with her set.  Jeanette is very much an unknown singer but with a voice like hers, this wont be the case for long.  Then Drumragh Integrated Primary School choir opened the 2nd half of the show with a show stopping performance piece.  Ritchie then joined the choir on stage for a special rendition of Hit The Diff and Only One Call Away.  As always, each child (40) was given a wee thank you from Ritchie as they left the stage.  Drumragh Integrated Choir were on the bill to promote integration, you can catch them again in The Strule Arts Centre on 9th June as part of “The Celebration of Integration”.  All proceeds from the show will go towards the Omagh Integrated Primary School New Building Fund. Glor Tire 2017 winner Lauren MCCrory also made a guest appearance.  As usual Lauren blew everyone away, especially with her performance of Derek Ryans song Gods Plan.  You could have heard a pin drop in the theatre.  The main VIPs of the evening though, who made several stage appearances, were Ritchies two sons, Zach and Jake. Zack joined his daddy on stage and helped him sing Hit The Diff (just incase his daddy forgot the words J), Zach also played his own fiddle and guitar along with his daddy as he sang Tipperary Girl.  Ritchie later carried one year old Jake over to the drums so he could also play his part in the ever expanding Ritchie Remo Concert Big Band lol.  As usual the main man himself was on top form and kept his audience entertained all night long.

Saturday 20th June saw Ritchie play the doting dad at a joint birthday party for his two boys.  Sure no party is complete without Spiderman and cake.

Saturday night was back to being Ritchie Remo.  This time we all headed to The Plaza Buncrana for Ritchies debut there with his big band.  It turned into a super night with local dance instructor Sonia McDaid running a jive masterclass before young voice of country star David James took to the stage to warm up the crowd. Ritchie took to the stage and kept the dancing crowd on their feet all night long.  The floor in the plaza is a dancers dream.  Ritchie and his team cannot wait to get back their again in the near future.

Saturday 27th was a mental day with the big band playing 2 gigs, whilst the lorry headed to Kircubbin to set up for Killens barn dance, Ritchie and the band headed to Ballyclare to play the May Fair before leaving straight away to join the fun at the barn dance (which included the auctioning off of a calf lol). This was a mental gig with a massive crowd and we hope they run it again next year.  Many thanks to Colette for looking after the band and crew before and after the gig.
