What a Year It’s Been!
It’s been a while since the last blog update, a few years, in fact! But with everything going on behind the scenes, it’s easy to see why. That’s why we’re so excited to welcome you to this brand-new website, with a fresh look and a fresh chapter in the Ritchie Remo story.
And what a chapter 2025 has been.
Busy Bee Mode: ON
If one thing’s true this year, it’s this: Ritchie Remo hasn’t stopped. From sold-out dances and weddings to European tours, international collaborations, and long days in the studio, Team Remo has been working at full throttle and loving every moment.
After wrapping up a busy autumn tour across Denmark, England, Scotland, Wales, and his hometown of Derry Londonderry, Ritchie headed straight back into the studio. He’s currently laying down the final vocals for his upcoming Christmas single and completing a brand-new album, which is due to drop in April 2026.
But 2025 hasn’t just been about stages and songs, it’s been about stepping into new spaces and reaching new audiences.
More Than Just Music
This year, Ritchie expanded his journey far beyond Irish shores. For the first time ever, he travelled to both Africa and the United States, not just as a performer, but as a cultural connector and storyteller.
In May, Ritchie was invited to perform at the legendary Howard University in Washington, D.C., one of the most respected institutions in the U.S., where he introduced the heart and soul of Irish music to a new and diverse audience.
Then, in July, Ritchie travelled to Kenya to explore the rich traditions of East African folk and pop music. This wasn’t just a trip, it was a life-changing experience that sparked a powerful collaboration with a Maasai folk singer. What began as musical discovery quickly evolved into a true cultural exchange.
The first live performance of this unique fusion of Maasai and Irish folk music will take place on October 24th AT ULSTER UNIVERSITY Londonderry Campus, marking a historic moment in Ritchie’s musical journey.
Later this year, Ritchie will travel back to Kenya to continue the collaboration with joint performances alongside other local artists, deepening the musical and cultural dialogue. These travels have inspired a new layer of depth in Ritchie’s music, fusing cultures, sharing stories, and creating connection through sound. And this is just the beginning.
Sharing Irish Music with the World
This new direction is driven by one clear goal: to make sure that Irish folk and country music are not only preserved, but discovered and celebrated globally.
Ritchie is incredibly proud to be a voice for Irish music on the world stage, showing just how versatile, powerful, and emotionally rich this tradition truly is. Whether it’s a classic folk ballad or a country anthem with a modern twist, there’s something deeply human in the heart of Irish music and Ritchie is passionate about sharing that heartbeat with the world.
If you’re an artist, musician, cultural organiser, or just someone who believes in the power of music to connect Ritchie welcomes collaboration.
Reach out, get in touch, and be part of this growing musical movement. Because Irish country music isn’t just for Ireland. It’s for anyone, anywhere, who feels its rhythm, its roots, and its soul.
Giving Back at Home
While 2025 was global in scope, it was also deeply rooted in local community.
In September 2024, Ritchie proudly began working with the First Citizen of Derry City & Strabane District, engaging in a series of civic events, charitable initiatives, and community performances. For the first time in his career, Ritchie has stepped into a public role that goes beyond music, supporting the Mayor’s charities and helping raise awareness and much-needed funds for local causes.
This partnership culminated in a major fundraising effort that made local history, raising over £62,000 for a community-based charity, the first time a sitting Mayor has achieved such a total. It’s a milestone Ritchie is incredibly proud to have contributed to, showing just how powerful music and public service can be when they come together.
He has also remained deeply committed to charitable efforts throughout the year. In October 2025, Ritchie took part in the Charlotte McEvoy Memorial Concert, a powerful evening held in loving memory of Charlotte, to raise vital funds for Marie Curie. It was a cause close to many hearts, and Ritchie was honoured to lend his voice in support. The event was not just a concert, but a celebration of life, love, and the healing power of music, continuing Ritchie’s long-standing mission to use his platform to uplift and support those in need.
Looking Ahead
The journey continues with the exciting U.S. relaunch of “Hills of Connemara” this October, bringing traditional Irish music to new audiences across the Atlantic. The early response has been incredible, a sign that the world is ready for what’s coming next.
With new singles dropping in November, a Christmas release, and a full album set for April 2026, there’s a lot to look forward to. And after taking time in 2018 to step back and recharge, Ritchie returns now with more energy, focus, and purpose than ever, backed by a passionate new management team and a bold creative direction.
Just Getting Started
So yes, he’s not just a singer.
What this year has shown, he’s also a bridge-builder, a champion for community, and a proud ambassador for Irish folk and country music on the world stage. His mission is clear: to share the heart of Irish music with the world, to keep tradition alive while pushing boundaries, and to create moments that truly connect people, wherever they are.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Welcome to the new era of Ritchie Remo.
