Not Just a Singer

About Ritchie Remo - Irish country with heart, energy, and unforgettable nights.

What a Year It’s Been!

It’s been a while since the last blog update, a few years, in fact! But with everything going on behind the scenes, it’s easy to see why. That’s why we’re so excited to welcome you to this brand-new website, with a fresh look and a fresh chapter in the Ritchie Remo story.

And what a chapter 2025 has been.

Busy Bee Mode: ON

If one thing’s true this year, it’s this: Ritchie Remo hasn’t stopped. From sold-out dances and weddings to European tours, international collaborations, and long days in the studio, Team Remo has been working at full throttle and loving every moment.

After wrapping up a busy autumn tour across Denmark, England, Scotland, Wales, and his hometown of Derry Londonderry, Ritchie headed straight back into the studio. He’s currently laying down the final vocals for his upcoming Christmas single and completing a brand-new album, which is due to drop in April 2026.

But 2025 hasn’t just been about stages and songs, it’s been about stepping into new spaces and reaching new audiences.

More Than Just Music

This year, Ritchie expanded his journey far beyond Irish shores. For the first time ever, he travelled to both Africa and the United States, not just as a performer, but as a cultural connector and storyteller.

In May, Ritchie was invited to perform at the legendary Howard University in Washington, D.C., one of the most respected institutions in the U.S., where he introduced the heart and soul of Irish music to a new and diverse audience.

Then, in July, Ritchie travelled to Kenya to explore the rich traditions of East African folk and pop music. This wasn’t just a trip, it was a life-changing experience that sparked a powerful collaboration with a Maasai folk singer. What began as musical discovery quickly evolved into a true cultural exchange.

The first live performance of this unique fusion of Maasai and Irish folk music will take place on October 24th AT ULSTER UNIVERSITY Londonderry Campus, marking a historic moment in Ritchie’s musical journey.

Later this year, Ritchie will travel back to Kenya to continue the collaboration with joint performances alongside other local artists, deepening the musical and cultural dialogue. These travels have inspired a new layer of depth in Ritchie’s music, fusing cultures, sharing stories, and creating connection through sound. And this is just the beginning.

Sharing Irish Music with the World

This new direction is driven by one clear goal: to make sure that Irish folk and country music are not only preserved, but discovered and celebrated globally.

Ritchie is incredibly proud to be a voice for Irish music on the world stage, showing just how versatile, powerful, and emotionally rich this tradition truly is. Whether it’s a classic folk ballad or a country anthem with a modern twist, there’s something deeply human in the heart of Irish music  and Ritchie is passionate about sharing that heartbeat with the world.

If you’re an artist, musician, cultural organiser, or just someone who believes in the power of music to connect  Ritchie welcomes collaboration.

Reach out, get in touch, and be part of this growing musical movement. Because Irish country music isn’t just for Ireland. It’s for anyone, anywhere, who feels its rhythm, its roots, and its soul.

Giving Back at Home

While 2025 was global in scope, it was also deeply rooted in local community.

In September 2024, Ritchie proudly began working with the First Citizen of Derry City & Strabane District, engaging in a series of civic events, charitable initiatives, and community performances. For the first time in his career, Ritchie has stepped into a public role that goes beyond music, supporting the Mayor’s charities and helping raise awareness and much-needed funds for local causes.

This partnership culminated in a major fundraising effort that made local history, raising over £62,000 for a community-based charity, the first time a sitting Mayor has achieved such a total. It’s a milestone Ritchie is incredibly proud to have contributed to, showing just how powerful music and public service can be when they come together.

He has also remained deeply committed to charitable efforts throughout the year. In October 2025, Ritchie took part in the Charlotte McEvoy Memorial Concert, a powerful evening held in loving memory of Charlotte, to raise vital funds for Marie Curie. It was a cause close to many hearts, and Ritchie was honoured to lend his voice in support. The event was not just a concert, but a celebration of life, love, and the healing power of music, continuing Ritchie’s long-standing mission to use his platform to uplift and support those in need.

Looking Ahead

The journey continues with the exciting U.S. relaunch of “Hills of Connemara” this October, bringing traditional Irish music to new audiences across the Atlantic. The early response has been incredible, a sign that the world is ready for what’s coming next.

With new singles dropping in November, a Christmas release, and a full album set for April 2026, there’s a lot to look forward to. And after taking time in 2018 to step back and recharge, Ritchie returns now with more energy, focus, and purpose than ever, backed by a passionate new management team and a bold creative direction.

Just Getting Started

So yes, he’s not just a singer.

What this year has shown, he’s also a bridge-builder, a champion for community, and a proud ambassador for Irish folk and country music on the world stage. His mission is clear: to share the heart of Irish music with the world, to keep tradition alive while pushing boundaries, and to create moments that truly connect people, wherever they are.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

Welcome to the new era of Ritchie Remo.

IRISH SINGER RITCHIE REMO Releases His First Single in the US, ‘HILLS OF CONNEMARA’

Ritchie Remo breathes new life into Irish classic ‘Hills of Connemara.’
There’s a chase through the mountains, laughter in the air and music echoing off the green hills that’s the spirit of ‘Hills of Connemara’, Ritchie Remo’s latest release, bringing one of Ireland’s most iconic folk songs to a whole new audience.

Ritchie Remo is an acclaimed Irish country music artist who has captivated audiences across Ireland, the UK, and internationally with his unique blend of traditional Irish music and contemporary country sounds.  Ritchie’s musical journey began at 12 years old with guitar and then learning the fiddle at 14.. After years of honing his craft, his debut album drew critical attention and set the stage for a career of chart success, international touring, and crowd-pleasing live shows.

With exceptional skill on the fiddle and guitar, Ritchie creates performances that celebrate Ireland’s rich musical heritage while engaging audiences of all backgrounds. His dynamic shows range from uplifting reels and jigs to beloved Irish classics—all delivered with unmistakable energy and passion.
This foot-stomping anthem ‘Hills of Connemara’ tells the tale of Ireland’s most daring moonshiners, brewing their secret poteen, a fiery, forbidden spirit, deep in the wilds of Connemara, while outsmarting the excise men in a cat-and-mouse race across the boglands. Poteen wasn’t just a drink; it was a symbol of Irish defiance, resourcefulness, and pride.  Ritchie’s fresh rendition captures that wild energy with his trademark Country-Celtic fusion, a driving beat, soaring fiddle lines, and a wink of Irish mischief that will have listeners raising a glass and singing along

Ritchie Remo says, ““Hills of Connemara is more than a song; it’s a celebration of Irish spirit, community, and joy. Sharing it with the American audience feels special because so many of us are connected through music, migration, and shared stories. I hope this song brings a little bit of Ireland to every heart that hears it.”

“I’m just the singer”

What an incredible year it has been for Ritchie Remo.  From playing dances, doing a concert tour, weddings, releasing singles, shooting videos, laying down vocals for a new album and buying a bigger lorry, thats just it in a nutshell.

Cork debut
Cork debut

We started 2017 off with the intention of conquering the dance venues in the South of Ireland and boy did we take that one by storm, the Southern debut in Cork last January was outstanding and really set the bar for us.  As with every good band out there, we still have to crowd build but it was an awsome start and gave us the boost we needed.

Ritchie has spent alot of time over the last year in the studio laying down vocals for various different projects.  It also led to him releasing his current single, Hills of Connemarra.

2017 saw Ritchie and the team take on their biggest concert tour to date selling  out many venues, including the Millennium Forum on his home turf, it was without a shadow of doubt, one of the biggest things last year.  The shows production was stepped up and taken to a whole new level.

There has been alot of highlights during 2017 for Ritchie and the team, some of our favourites include flying to Spain to headline a sensational Country music weekend in Salardru, playing in a barn to 1000+ people and closing the doors in The Bannville House Hotel just before Christmas.  A personal highlight for Ritchie was when he was invited to perform onstage at the recording of Opry Dhoire alongside host Daniel O’Donnell.

Ritchie is without a doubt one of the hardest working artists on the scene but believe it or not he is quite shy when it comes to taking credit for things, as Ritchie says “sure i’m just the singer”.
