They say dreams do come true and after the 2nd night of the #CountryBoy tour, we are firm believers of that. Last night saw Ritchie play to his second consecutive sold out theatre date, of this tour, in The Market Place Theatre, Armagh. Front of house clearance was given, the house lights went down, the band began playing the intro, the light show began, Ritchie walked onto the stage and BOOM...the show began. Ritchie put the crowd at ease from the first song, everyone sang along and enjoyed the banter as he sang, played his guitar, fiddled and told jokes all night long. Ritchies first quest of the night was Maeve Farrell who after singing her set remained on stage with Ritchies band providing harmonies. During the interval Ritchie met his competition winners backstage for a chat and photos. The second half of the show was kicked off with a showstopping rendition of Hit The Diff involving the talented kids from Killylea Primary School (tickets for a fundraiser dance on 5th April are now available from the school, music on the night by Ritchie Remo and his big band) Taylor Scallon School Of Irish Dancing was next up and they showed everyone what hard work and determination can do with their dances, both the younger and older groups got everyone in the dancing mood. Poor Ritchie had to follow this haha, cue The Hucklebuck. Audience participation played a strong part in this, about a dozen people were invited to join Ritchie on stage to dance with him. Ritchie further more made 1 gentleman’s dreams come true when he was invited to sing with him on stage. Ryan Donaghy really got the crowd going. The big band includes talented musicians from all over the North of Ireland, Donegal and Switzerland. Ritchie left everyone on a high with more audience participation, dancing and singing to Rattlin Bog and Proud Mary. The confetti cannons exploded, the show was coming to an end, the lighting show began to dull, the band started playing the outro, Ritchie left the stage but had to come back on again as the crowd went wild. After one encore, the show came to an end. Ritchie met everyone in the foyer for photos and signings afterwards. The team cannot wait to do it all over again in The Burnavon theatre, Cookstown on 27th April, special quests on the night will include Glor Tire contestant Pandy Walsh and St Eoghans Primary School, Moneyneena, there will also be a few more surprises on the night so bring your dancing shoes because a Ritchie Remo concert isn’t necessarily a seating affair.
